GORGEOUS LIVING ROOMS WITH CREATIVE COLOR PALETTES

Color is one of the best ways to show off your design style and jazz up your space. You can choose a bold shade (think green or red) or practice restraint with a soothing palette of neutrals. There's also the option to settle for the best of both worlds with a combination of vibrant and subdued hues. Plus, color is known to evoke different moods.

That said, we've gathered of our favorite living room designs that feature a host of creative color combinations. Use these high-design interiors—including everything from peach to turquoise—as inspiration to experiment with color in your own living room.

PINK AND YELLOW

The living room in interior designer Linda Pinto's elegant Parisian aerie relies on a palette of energetic yellow and fuschia. The vintage Jean-Michel Frank sofas are in custom Manfacture Royale Bonvallet velvet and the lacquered armchairs are from the 1920s.

PEACH AND GREEN

For her Washington, D.C. family home, architect Carmel Greer chose Benjamin Moore's Peach Blossom to bring the living room to life. The space is outfitted with green chairs from Anthropologie, cowhide Corbusier LC-1 Chairs, and an Eames walnut stool.

PINK, PURPLE, AND GRAY

Soothing gray tones complements pops of pink and purple in the Beverly Hills home of Too Faced Founders Jerrod Blandino and Jeremy Johnson. In the living room, antique furnishings, including Dorothy Draper chairs, along with Kate Spade sconces.

BLUE AND PINK

An eye-catching living room features custom blue paint, serving as the perfect backdrop to the pearly pink lampshade, layers of patterns, and one-of-a-kind accents.

BLUE AND YELLOW

To give a room a cheery atmosphere, this home, which is inspired by Grey Gardens, features an inviting blue and yellow palette. High-gloss blue walls work well with a ceiling inset of yellow felt paper by Stark. Celerie Kemble for Henredon sofas, upholstered in a vibrant Brunschwig & Fils linen, complete the look.

RED AND WHITE

Walt Disney's former Palm Springs pad boasts an Art Deco vibe, which was accomplished by geometric curtains and pops of red alongside crisp white.

RED AND BLUE

Blue and red unite in a striking Brooklyn townhouse owned by ceramist Amanda Moffat. The Bukhara rug is from ABC Carpet & Home and the pressed-tin lamps are from Lexington Gardens.

RASPBERRY AND TURQUOISE

Light raspberry and turquoise is an unexpected pairing that adds a playful vibe to a living room, like this design scheme in a New York City apartment by Ritika Bhasin. The velvet sofa in a deeper shade of raspberry brings balance to the look, while the turquoise accent chair adds contrast.

YELLOW, PINK, AND GREEN

Yellow, pink and green hues can inject personality into a space in an instant. This daring color combination comes to life in a living room of a 1963 Houston house designed by architect John Staub and decorated by J. Randall Powers.

YELLOW AND GRAY

Pops of yellow, by way of throw pillows and curtains in an Oscar de la Renta fabric for Lee Jofa, add a dose of energy to decorator Alisa Bloom's Chicago penthouse, which features walls in Benjamin Moore’s Cement Gray. The custom sofa is covered in a Kravet fabric with pillows in a Jim Thompson silk. The 1970s chairs are from Revival, and the vintage cocktail table is from Martin La Brocante. A Crate & Barrel console and a vintage chandelier by Hans-Agne Jakobsson finish the design.
