Chain Belts Are Back to Keep Your Style on Lock This Summer

Spring / Summer '19 runways showcased an abnormally eclectic display of styles and trends, from hippy modernism and cool-girl utility, right through to sharp, bold, block-colour tailoring.

The emphasis, it would appear, was on 'you do you' idiosyncrasy, rather than 'follow-the-leader' trends.

That being said, several small motifs crept out of the colour and sundry and one of those motifs was chain belts.

Originally catapulting to popularity with the help of Claudia Schiffer and Chanel, in 1994, they're back for SS19 in much the same vein

Consumer shopping app LIKEtoKNOW.it reports seeing a 2900% increase in searches for chain belts among its 5 million plus users, with influencers @Lradwell, @Thelipstickfever and @sarahvonh all favourited for their chain belt stylings.

Moschino and Versace, famous of course for their chain prints, opted for actual hardware for SS19. Less expectedly, though, Burberry's SS19 collection followed suit with belt bags on chains. Burberry even locked up their menswear.

Moving through Sprint/Summer and into Autumn/Winter, Moschino are blessing the chain belts with a bit of longevity, styling them for the colder months too.
