Dalby house is blooming after makeover

FOR large-scale artist Bronte Naylor, painting larger-than-life murals is nothing out of the ordinary.

But when a Dalby couple requested their entire house front be painted with flowers, she was somewhat taken aback.

"I had not even heard of somebody getting the front of their whole house painted - usually it's a gate or a wall or something,” she said.

"But why not do it though if it's your house and that's what you want to do? Why paint it white if you could paint it with whatever you want?

"They're really happy with how it has come out and that's what matters.”

The homeowners, who wish to remain anonymous, contacted Ms Naylor after seeing her artwork for the Carnival of Flowers in Toowoomba.

"It's 18 metres of flowers,” she said of the unusual house mural.

"It took seven days to paint, which is big for a mural. It's normally more like three or four.

"It is more intricate with a lot more layers... There are over 350 flowers on the wall. It's got over 200 roses in different shades, lots of lavender, then it's covered in cosmos with an ornamental weeping mulberry and daisies.

"I've used muted colours but you can definitely see it from the road and tell there is something on the house,” Ms Naylor said
