Ageing like a fine wine

FT NEWS

Himani Shivpuri is undoubtedly one of the most recognized and renowned actors in the Indian entertainment industry. Currently, the actor essays Katori Amma’s character in &TV’s Happu Ki Ultan Paltan. Ageing like fine wine, the veteran actor feels that birthdays should not just be about giving yourself happiness but sharing that joy with everyone. Talking about her birthday tradition, Himani Ji, alias Katori Amma, shares, “Honestly, my son is always more excited than me on my birthday. He makes the wait worth the while and plans my birthday quite meticulously. It starts with a surprise celebration sharp at midnight with a cake and decoration. Even though I always know about his birthday planning, what makes it special is his sheer love, personalization, decoration and ordering my favourite things to make sure it is the best! It has become a tradition of sorts now. This year too, I am eagerly looking forward to the surprise plan, making the most of the celebrations and spending my special day with him and my fur baby.”  She further adds, “This year, I will be mostly having a working birthday. However, I do have plans to celebrate it in my special way. I will start my day with yoga and meditation and thank the almighty for this beautiful life with incredible people. I am also planning to visit an old-age home and celebrate with them as I strongly believe in the joy of spreading happiness. Then after work, I will end my day by having dinner with my friends and family. Not a cliché way of celebration but a special way for me.”
