Nearly completing a decade in the Indian television industry, popular actor Shrenu Parikh has been roped into portraying Genda, the lead protagonist in &TV’s upcoming brand-new fiction show ‘Ghar Ek Mandir - Kripa Agrasen Maharaja Ki’. Produced by Zee Studios, the show is a never-seen-before socio drama on Indian television built around the context of the legendary king, Agrasen Maharaja. Agrasen Maharaja was the founder of the Agrawal community of traders and, through his ideologies and teachings, helped the community prosper. The story will depict Agrasen Maharaja’s core principles through his ardent bhakt and the show’s lead protagonist, Genda.
Having worked in various television shows, films, web series, and music videos across languages, Shrenu has experimented with different roles and genres. About the show and her role as Genda, ShrenuParikh says, “I am delighted to be a part of Ghar Ek Mandir – Kripa Agrasen Maharaja Ki and portray Genda’s role, the main protagonist in the show. Genda is a devoted girl belonging to a low-income family who gets married into a business family. She represents the woman of today with deep-rooted traditional values. She is obedient yet firm on her beliefs and can go to any extent to protect her family, bind and keep everyone together. She is an ardent bhakt of Agrasen Maharaja and shares a unique and beautiful bond with him, that is, of a friend, philosopher, and guide.” Elaborating further, Shrenu Parikh adds, “The moment I read the script and understood the character, I just had this feeling that I must do it. I have never done a socio-drama, and when this opportunity came my way, I thought it was a wonderful opportunity to explore a new genre. The character, too, is refreshingly different and significant. Also, while many have heard of Agrasen Maharaja, only a few know about his core principles. It will surely make for an interesting watch for the viewers, and I am super excited about my role and show. I am eagerly looking forward to this new journey and hoping
