Lakme Fashion Week summer/resort 2020: The best kurtas spotted on the runway

The onset of summer calls for a change in wardrobe—goodbye warm layers enter breezy cuts and lightweight fabrics. Keeping this in mind, the designers who showcased at the summer/resort 2020 edition of Lakmé Fashion Week displayed a wide roster of airy kurtas on the runway. Here, we list out some of our favourite iterations.

Statement sleeves are currently having a big fashion moment. Pankaj and Nidhi X R| Elan’s sustainable collection included a patterned, balloon sleeved kurta that is ideal for a dinner out. Then there was Mohammed Mazher’s white kurta and sharara set featuring white piping, which is sure to become a favourite among minimalists. Among the other white kurtas spotted on the runway, Ikai’s sheer kurta, which came with scallop detailing on the sleeves, made a noteworthy impact. Meanwhile, Payal Singhal’s white kurta was accentuated with silver polka dots, neon embroidery and tassel detailing—making it a great option for those who love standing out in the crowd. Pastel lovers, on the other hand, can pick between Punit Balana’s crushed peach kurta pleated sharara set and House of Kotwara’s printed version.
