6 OF THE HOTTEST TRENDS WE DISCOVERED AT MILAN DESIGN WEEK

Milan Design Week and Salone del Mobile are over and done with. Everyone is back home digesting (literally and figuratively) all of the inspiring exhibitions that were on display. Here are the key design takeaways that are worth noting.

  1. NEON

The bright, vivid colors of the 1970s and ’90s are back! Shown here is the exhibition by Sasha Bikoff for Versace Home

  1. LANTERN LIGHTING

Lanterns seem to be the shape of choice these days for lighting, whether they be made from paper, fabric, or Murano glass like these by Massimiliano Locatelli shown at Nilufar Gallery.

  1. FLORALS

It’s spring, and flowers are blooming all over the design world. From left, a sconce by Bethan Laura Wood for Nilufar Gallery; a new rug by Fornasetti; and a decorative objet from Artemest.

  1. CURVE IS THE WORD

Boxiness has been eclipsed by luscious curves, including on case goods. This new Daniels seating system by Christophe Delcourt for Minotti allows you to create whichever curvy configuration you desire!

5- CANE

6- UNUSUAL MARBLE

Marble was everywhere this year, ranging from Editions Milano, known for using the material, to Cattelan Italia furniture, but the key is using different colorations of the stone, as in this sideboard from Visionnaire
