Its time to get fit Design Ideas and Tips for your Gym at Home.

'Get fit' – one of the resolutions we have on our new year resolution check list that never gets checked.  The gym membership card is stuck to your wallet (as it was never taken out) and the work out wears are as new as ever. The reasons we have, are plenty – to save ourselves from regret, but now it is high time we thought of our health. By each passing day, our body and soul are screaming out loud to us, for some attention, which we comfortably choose to ignore. Not any more. If stepping out of the house seems like a herculean task, get the gym to your house. Here are some easy home gym design ideas and tips that will help you get in shape, at your home. Home gym is always a better option than the paid gyms outside. You have lesser distractions, more time and freedom to work out at your own pace and most importantly, need not have to step out of your house!!  A gym can be designed in your balcony (if it is large enough), bedrooms not in use or even an old garage (a little makeover can turn it into a great workout haven). Since most of the equipment you will probably have, are heavy, its always better to check whether  the floor can withstand the pressure. Gyms on the ground floor are always a better option. This said, treadmills and other heavy equipment are not the only ones a gym can have. Anything that makes you work out can find a place in your gym; even a jump rope. Now a lot said on how to go about with the gym, let's see some designs that will help you plan one for you home.

The room is turned into a gym in the easiest way possible. A treadmill, stability/balance ball and a Pec deck machine are all that is needed to create a home gym. The room, provided with ample ventilation is surely one of the ideal place to set up a gym. A point worth mentioning is the use of carpet under the treadmill. Although it is always better to have separate high grip carpets for all gym machines, treadmills, in particular should not be operated without a carpet beneath it.

Sometimes, the equipment are too huge for any of the rooms we have planned to turn into a gym. In such cases, the rooms look over crowded and do not provide an apt atmosphere. Sufficient lighting and huge windows are then something to lean on, for a better, open feel. To make it better, the gym (shown above) has turned its walls into a serene beach scene.
The room is well furnished for the sole purpose of working out. As working out can easily exhaust you, it is always recommended to keep the space airy and open. Large mirrors are one clever idea to create virtual airiness. Mirror also helps to know whether you are doing it the right way. The gym space above shows an ideal work out space. With a rack to keep the essentials ( towels and napkins), the gym is complete in its sense - just like the formal ones

For those who don't want to work out in a secluded room, the entire house stands as an option. The design above shows how working out can be a lot more fun when the space is adjoined by the living/entertainment area.

This home gym is not for all. This design is for the hard core fitness freaks - the one who needs 'everything at once'. Sometimes, random arrangement looks better than a neat and tidy one. With a lot of  fitness equipment stuffed into one room, the room is a complete one stop fitness haven, which surprisingly does not look crowded but cool.
