This year, Amazon India Fashion Week in association with Maybelline New York had a location twist on the 2nd day. Designer, SamantChauhandecided to showcase his collection at the National Rail Museum, which made all of us feel nostalgic. He decided this offsite location to pay homepage to his hometown and railways.
Samant, who is from Jamalpur in Bihar, grew up in a Railway colony. The other reason he feels the connection to rails is because his father and grandfather are from the railways. And that's why he chose to showcase at the Rail Museum.

It was a sunny afternoon, where all the guests were served kulhad chai and crisp matthis before the show began. And the show was dedicated to Muga Silk, which is also known as the 'Queen of Textiles'. This year, FDCI is keeping its commitment in promoting 'Make in India' campaign and AIFW has been a great venture for the same. And, SamantChauhan's show was another textile pleasure at AIFW this year. The show helped to promote the 'The Golden Threads of Assam' venture.

The Golden Threads of Assam is an initiative to preserve the royal silk Muga and helping all the weavers and rearers of this silk to maintain their unique identity. SamantChauhan presented the Muga silk collection on the 2nd day to revive this ancient craft yet again. He has also done a show in Shillong in the past to promote and preserve the Queen of Textile: Muga!
