1. Vitrified tiles
Vitrified tiles are hard and dense, and available in different colours, patterns and sizes. The best part about using vitrified tiles is that you can get them in designs which can replicate the actual look of mirror-finish Italian marble.

2. Porcelain tiles
Porcelain tiles are strong, sturdy, durable, stain-resistant, scratch-resistant and have a high density which makes them impervious to water. These tiles are available in a vast variety of colours, patterns and textures which simulate the look of natural wood and stone.

Premium-quality porcelain tiles start at ₹75 per square foot.
 
3. Ceramic tiles
Ceramic tiles are available in numerous colours, patterns and textures. The drawback with using ceramic tiles is that they are made of fragile material and have the tendency to crack over time. Also, these tiles are porous which makes them susceptible to stains.

4. Italian marble
Italian marble is a soft stone with a high lustre and crystal-like appearance which imparts a luxurious high-end look to the home. However the drawback with using Italian marble is that it has the tendency to develop small hairline cracks. Also Italian marble has to be periodically sealed and polished.

5. Indian marble

6. Natural stone
Natural stone is available as Kota stone, Jaisalmer stone, limestone, sandstone, slate tiles and so on. Note that natural stone is hard and durable, but since it is a porous material, it has to be sealed periodically.

7. Cement tiles

11. Laminated flooring

It is scratch-resistant and is available in numerous colours like maple, oak and rosewood etc. However the drawback with laminated flooring is that it is not moisture resistant and may get damaged in the presence of stagnant water. 12. Vinyl flooring
Vinyl flooring is made of polyvinyl chloride. It is stain-resistant, water-resistant and easy to maintain. However, the disadvantage with vinyl flooring is that it emits volatile organic compounds (VOCs), it has a plastic look and it is not biodegradable. A vinyl floor lasts 10–20 years.
