FT NEWS

Veteran actor Gopi Desai is set to trigger drama as she enters &TV’s Ghar Ek Mandir-Kripa Agrasen Maharaja Ki as Amma Ji. With over four decades in the entertainment industry and working across various films and television shows, popular actor Gopi Desai has carved a niche for herself by portraying several strong characters on screen. Now, with her as Amma Ji, she will bring in the required dose of drama and chaos in the show and the life of the Genda (Shrenu Parikh).

Elated to be a part of &TV’s Ghar Ek Mandir-Kripa Agrasen Maharaja Ki, Gopi Desai shares, “I am glad to be a part of such a show which is based on a unique concept and storyline. I will be portraying the role of Amma Ji; she is a very calm and polite lady who holds an extremely important stature in the baniya community. Usually, Amma Ji does not attend social gatherings but only graces those with her presence who is very close to her, just like the Agarwal family. She is a tapasvi saadhvi who has dedicated herself to the almighty. My character will bring a lot of drama to the show. Amma Ji only consumes saatvik food, but Genda accidentally serves her food with onion and garlic. Considering this to be an outrage to her belief, Amma Ji creates a lot of havoc in the family. It will be an interesting watch for the viewers to see Genda trying to make amends with the help of her Agrasen Maharaja.”

‘Ghar Ek Mandir-Kripa Agrasen Maharaja Ki’ is a never-seen-before socio drama on Indian television built around the context of the legendary king, Agrasen Maharaja. The story depicts Agrasen Maharaja’s core principles through his ardent bhakt and the show’s lead protagonist, Genda, a devoted girl belonging to a low-income family, married into a business family. Genda faces several challenges in her journey and conquers every barrier by following Maharaj Agrasen’s guiding principles. The captivating narrative will bring alive the beautiful relationship of faith between Agrasen Maharaja and his devotee Genda, who considers him her philosopher, guide and friend.
