Minimalist Luxury Best Describes the Design Concept for This Beach Resort

FT NEWS

What goes into the design of a beautiful beach resort? It’s a combination of things, including comfortable rooms, practical features to enhance the indoor-outdoor connection, privacy from prying eyes and a bit of luxury so that the soul feels pampered and the body rejuvenated. Let’s take a closer look to get a better perspective of how the design delivers aesthetics and practicality in equal measure.

Private pool by the sea

With the sea just a few meters away, a pool is an added luxury. To protect the privacy of guests, the designers have opted for a slatted fence bordering the pool. It helps to keep the pool private without entirely cutting out the view of the sea. Furthermore, the play of light through the slatted fence adds to the magical setting by the poolside.

A green view

On the other side of the pool, a walkway with plants and trees bordering adds a soothing view of greenery from the bedroom. The pergola over the verandah that provides comfortable seating by filtering the sunlight in the area.

In tune with nature

The designers have used nature-themed accessories to decorate the verandah and deck by the pool. The natural tones of the wood combine with white to create a lovely beachside theme. Sliding glass doors make it easy for guests to step out from the room into the poolside deck area.

The perfect place to lounge

This image gives us a better idea of the layout of the poolside area. It’s the ideal place for sunbathing during the day or relaxing by the pool at night, listening to the soothing sound of the waves in the background.

View from the bed

Here, we see the view from the bed. The large flat-screen television takes centre stage with a sleek entertainment shelf under it for storing media-related accessories. The wood used for the entertainment unit blends with the cladding on the wall. The use of vertical slats of wood for the wall cladding creates the illusion of a higher ceiling, making the room feel more spacious.

Connected with nature

The use of glass doors on three sides invites abundant natural light into the room and presents views of the beautiful greenery and nature in the surroundings. Instead of a headboard, a fixed glass window on the wall behind the bed frames the tall trees outside to create a natural artwork. Elegant pendant lights hang down on the sides of the bed, doubling as reading lights at night. A dressing unit with a long mirror is placed on one side of the bed, reflecting the sky and greenery to create another natural frame.

Relaxed entertainment

Here, we see a full view of the entertainment wall opposite the bed. Imagine lying in bed and watching your favorite movie or show? It’s the ultimate relaxation!

Floor-to-ceiling windows

The other side of the bed has full-length windows from the floor to ceiling to enhance the indoor-outdoor connection. A combination of sheer and blackout curtains help to regulate the amount of light in the room during the day. The wooden ceiling has built-in LED lights to illuminate the room after dark, besides a globe-shaped chandelier that hangs down from the centre.

Pattern play

The wood cladding on the wall behind the bed is laid in a geometric pattern that adds visual texture to the design and creates an interesting play of light and shadow when sunlight bathes the wall.

Cozy nook

The oversized reading chair by the bed is perfect for curling up with a book or staring out at the sky and sea through the window overlooking the poolside. It’s another perfect feature in a room designed for a relaxing vacation.
