FDCI ORGANISED 28TH EDITION OF THE AMAZON INDIA FASHION WEEK

New Delhi : Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), the apex body of fashion in India, Organised the 28 th edition of the Amazon India Fashion Week in association with Maybelline New York Spring Summer 2017.

This year, 110 designers showcased through runway and exhibition, from all over the country, added unrestrained glamour in an extravaganza, which comprises 31 splendid shows with 63 designers on the ramp at the AIFW SS17. The five-day event was held from October 12-16 at the NSIC Grounds, New Delhi.

Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI said, "We are celebrating the first two days as Handloom and Textile days (with the exception of the evening sponsor shows). As the latest edition of the Amazon India Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2017 is set to begin, we are delighted to announce the schedule of the best talent pool, who, with their inventive ideas will make it a riveting ride." To capture and continue the handloom legacy of various regions of India, 23 style gurus showcased their designs, interpreting the myriad possibilities the sector offers. Handlooms are the largest employer in India after agriculture and the beauty lies in the fact that each region boasts of an indigenous textile, which is brilliant and unique in more ways than one. Assisting this quiet revolution, the FDCI’s fashion brigade is gearing up to add pizzazz by crafting ensembles with a soulful flavour. These include, Abraham & Thakore, Anavila, Anita Dongre, akaaro by Gaurav Jai Gupta, Krishna Mehta, Payal Pratap, Rina Dhaka, Samant Chauhan, Pinnacle by Shruti Sancheti, Urvashi Kaur, and Virtues by Viral, Ashish & Vikrant.
