Pictures that will give you a peek at Gauri Khan’s off duty wardrobe

Gauri Khan may have stepped into the limelight as superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s wife. But over the years, she has carved her own identity (and résumé) as a film producer and interior designer. When she’s not dressing up swanky spaces, she’s playing dress up herself. Khan pretty much invented the star wife dressing manual—one that loves Hervé Léger bandage dresses as much as skinny jeans and white tees.

One look at Gauri Khan's repertoire and it’s abundantly clear that denim, white top and heels form her signature off-duty uniform. She’ll switch the Louboutins for sneakers when tile shopping. Or throw in a tweed jacket and knee-high boots when attending a design fair in Milan. But the foundation remains the same. When headed for her weekly blow-dry, Gauri Khan prefers to keep the same level of comfort intact, but switches up her OOTD to include boxy crop tops and leggings with oversized totes (Chanel or Goyard) and sneaker wedges.

Black and white is a classic combination she admits to using generously not just in her collections but in her wardrobe too; such as her broderie anglaise top and skirt set, houndstooth print jacket or simple midi dress. And then there are the animal prints—you’ll often spot Khan in leopard print camisoles and zebra print silk blouses. Almost as often as those boho-cool peasant tops she loves to pair with jeans.

But if Khan were to really play favourites, her trusty military jackets (a fairly expansive collection, from the looks of it) would win by a mile. From anoraks and tights to matching ATM Anthony Thomas Melillo separates; the interior designer really can’t get enough of the camouflage print — whether it’s a play date, a family meal or a flight out of town.
