There’s nothing quite like the feeling of getting lost in a new city. And Stockholm has officially stolen my heart—its archipelago of charming islands is the perfect place to wander aimlessly. The historic city also has its share of must-sees, of course, and Stockholm Design Week, held earlier this month, is one of them. Scandinavian design is all about mixing minimalist form and function with innovation—and keeping sustainability top of mind. This year’s showing was no exception. From the expertly crafted wood pieces at Carl Hansen & Son (which uses its post-production waste to heat 750 houses in surrounding neighborhoods) to Fogia’s ultra-sleek seating (which gets all of its feathers, downs, and leathers from by-products of other industries), the best of Stockholm Design Week keeps giving. Read on for my favorite finds from the shows.
