OUR FAVORITE COLORS TO COMPLEMENT BLUE DÉCOR

Color never fails to breathe life into a space, and if you're on the hunt for a versatile hue, blue tops the list for many interior designers. "Blue goes with everything," says decorator Suzanne Ascher of Waterleaf Interiors. "There really isn't any color that doesn't work with blue, so you should think of it as a neutral."

Whether you settle on a coastal-inspired blue or go for a dramatic look where navy blue steals the show, this color can be used to achieve just about any look. Ahead, we've highlighted some of our favorite interiors, which showcase some of the best colors to pair with blue.

Blue and Red

Red is the perfect contrast to blue, and can easily make a space more visually appealing. Here, periwinkle blue walls complement an eye-catching red staircase in an Italian attic apartment.

Blue, Green, and Red

When blue meets green and red, the result is nothing short of sophisticated. This blue room in Madrid is enhanced with touches of green and red.

Blue and Yellow

Pops of soft yellow balance high-gloss blue walls in an elegant East Hampton home designed by Celerie Kemble.

Blue and Orange

Salmon-colored walls against striking blue trim and decorative accents are showcased in an estate in Florence, Italy. This unique color pairing adds warmth to the bedroom.

Blue and Gray

For a master bedroom in London, interior designer Jean Louis-Deniot opted for an inviting palette of blue and gray. Gray and white curtains, along with gray upholstered walls, enhance the various tones of blue in the room, including the bedding and luxe seating.

Blue, White, and Purple

A comfortable blue banquette in a floral print and a vibrant purple rug add charm to a Brooklyn breakfast nook.

Blue, Beige, and Green

Andy Cohen's Greenwich Village space is complete with a deep blue love seat in Ralph Lauren denim. A sofa in a Maharam stripe by Paul Smith and silk burlap Ralph Lauren wallpaper in a beige tone add to the room's sophisticated flair.

Blue, White, and Brown

Looking for more of an eccentric look? Consider a palette of blue, white, and brown. Take inspiration from this living room, featuring white walls and blue vintage sofas upholstered in a Ralph Lauren Home stripe. A white and brown rug, a pair of white busts by Oly, and white furniture ties the look together.
